This set of fly-thru animations and Quicktime VR 3D environments was created as an outreach project for one of NOAA's deep-sea research groups. The study area, a place where two tectonic plates are spreading apart and submarine volcanoes erupt, is called Magic Mountain and is located on Explorer Ridge of the Juan De Fuca plate. Clay performed all the 3D work. Users can watch the animations and click on hot-spots in the VR to see Quicktime videos taken of the area by the remote submersible ROPOS. |
